Slide Milling and how it works

Currently we are only cutting Glock slides, XD Slides, and M&P Shields.

It’s a fact that red dots are faster, safer, and make it easier to hit your target. When you are using iron sights, you have to focus on the front sight which takes your attention off the target or, God forbid, a threat. With a red dot, it’s opposite. You focus on the target and bring the dot onto it. Not all firearms come optic ready, so that is where we come in. We use state of the art CNC machines to machine your slide for the perfect fit and finish.

Before anything, you will need to decide what optic you have or are looking to get. We have a selection of the 2 most popular brands in pistol optics, Holosun and Trijicon here. This doesn’t mean that we only cut for these, but these are the brands we most trust.

Glocks

For the double stack Glocks, we are able to machine most red dot footprints. For the single stack glocks, we can machine them for the K series/EPS Carry Holosun and Trijicon RMRcc. We are also able to machine front serrations for easier manipulation of the firearm.

Note: You will need “suppressor sights” (Taller Sights) to be able to co-witness with red dot if you wanted to have back up sights. We carry two styles of Angry Bear Sights. One is fully blacked out, rear and front, so that there is no reticle confusion. Second option comes with a blacked out rear sight and red or green fiber optic capable front post. One both, the rear sight also has a set screw to secure it in position so that if your sight gets bumped, it will stay zeroed. You can find these here.

XDs

For the XD Slides, we machine them specifically for the Holosun K series. Due to the interworking’s of the slide, we are not able to mount other optics without extensive modifications to the internal components. The location of the optic will be on the far rear portion of the slide and please note, YOU WILL LOOSE THE REAR IRON SIGHT.

M&P Shield Compact

For the M&P Shield Compact we cut those for the Holosun K Series and Trijicon RMRcc. If you have the loaded chamber indicator, that will have to be removed and there will be a slot where it once was. We also have the option for our signature TDC design which has the optic cut, along with ports on the top corners and serrations on the sides.

Like the standard Glock, The M&P full size can be cut for any optic foot print.

Cerakote

Cerakote is a ceramic based coating that is extremely durable and will protect your firearm from rust and abrasion. While not necessary, it is encouraged to have your slide finished with cerakote. This will ensure that the exposed metal from the slide milling process is protected from the elements. Note: While cerakote is a durable coating, like all coatings it will wear over time. If we cerakote your slide and you believe that the coating is wearing prematurely, please reach out. If it’s determined that it was an application issue we will recerakote it.

How to get the slide to TDC?

There are 2 ways to get us the slide. You can call ahead and schedule a time to drop it off, or you can mail it to:
